FYE 2013 Annual Audit

February 26, 2015SHERMAN, Texas — A local non-profit moved into their very own building this weekend.
Women Rock provides emotional and financial support for women battling breast cancer. They’ve been serving a 10-county area for four years now, while renting a property on Travis Street in Sherman.
But they will now own a new facility on East Houston Street, where they say they’ll have much more space to better serve the community.
“I’m a 10-year survivor,” said Board Chairman Janis Fletcher, “10 years ago, there was nothing like this in this area. We are able to help them in so many ways and answer questions, and build a network that they can reach out to other women.”
The non-profit says their next goal is to build a retreat center on land that’s already been donated to them at Lake Texoma.
They also say they are always looking for volunteers and survivors to join them.
Their next 5k will be the 5th annual Women Rock Susan Hicks 5k in Bonham, Texas. It will on April 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For more information visit www.womenrockinc.org.
