November 1, 2012DENISON, TX— In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month several breast cancer survivors and their supporters came to Grayson College Tuesday afternoon for “Just Doo It”.
The event was a rally and fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. Women Rock, a group whose mission is to spread breast cancer awareness and education, hosted the event.
Fifteen teams decorated and sported pink doo rags. Awards were given for the prettiest, ugliest and funniest doo rag.
The group’s pink fire truck was also at the rally. The fire truck serves as a trophy for women who have fought and survived their battle with breast cancer. Survivors sign the truck as a sign of their victory.
Today’s event raised over $3,500 dollars. The proceeds will go to screening exams for qualifying women and medical bills for women going through chem.
