Jill is a stage 3 Brest cancer survivor. She has gone through chemotherapy, radiation, and a full hysterectomy. She did her best to stay positive and find positive things about all of it (ex: “The bright side of Chemo is I don’t have to shave!”). Jill also stayed very busy. Some of the activities she did during treatments, with the okay from her doctors, were Gulf coast trips and trips to Colorado Springs (where her daughter lived). In Colorado she did cave dwelling at the Cave of the Winds, hiked around Garden of the Gods and even did the Manitou Springs Incline. She also did skydiving for the first time and loved it!!

One question she was asked the most was why she didn’t wear wigs and head coverings. Her response was, “Because it’s to damn hot!” She learned quickly to “own” her bald head!! However, she did always keep a beanie in her purse for cold places. She’s been a survivor since April 2014!!!

Jill was born and raised in Texas. She is a mother to an adult daughter, married a longtime friend in June 2005, and gained 3 step-sons, all of whom are adults.

She enjoys her husband, grandchildren, and 4 dogs.
